Imagine this situation, I told person A that I'm in SMU accountancy and he replied, "Congrats! I heard that SMU graduates are in demand and that they adapt to the workforce quickly. You will be able to get a job quickly when you graduate." On the other hand, imagine another situation where i told the same thing to person B and he replied, "Eww! Why are you in SMU? It's a fashion show there! I don't believe that you can learn anything useful there!"

Get this, you ignorant people, according to the Graduate Employment Survey by MOE in 2008, the overall employment rate of SMU Accountancy graduates is 97.7% while it is 96.6% for NTU. The mean for SMU Accountancy gross monthly salary is $2,961 wherelse it is $2,643 for NTU.

As you ignorant people can see, SMU graduates are actually earning slightly more than NTU graduates. However, the statistics provided above is not meant to target at any school or anything. In fact, I have a friend at NTU Accountancy and I am glad for her. I also have applied for NTU Accountancy but failed. Nevertheless, even if I succeed in my application, I will still choose SMU again.

I love SMU for its excellent facilities and its style of teaching. The seminar rooms are built in such a way that it resembles a conference room. Students get to discuss issues exactly like how they will when they are working in the future. There are a lot of Group Study Rooms in SMU so that you get to do your projects or discussion in a conducive environment. You get to arrange your timetables in such a way that you do not have long waiting times between lessons. Majority of the school is airconditioned and have escalators, so you never have to arrive at your classes sweating and panting. There are printing rooms in every school so you can easily print and collect your notes before your lessons started. There is a IT Helpdesk where you can visit anytime you have problems with your laptops. The benefits of studying in SMU is endless, but you get my point. In fact, the only thing I dislike about SMU is its horrendous school fees.

So for you ignorant people, if MOE proved that SMU Accountancy graduates are good enough to earn 2.9k a month, if the professors at SMU Accountancy are either partners or are in the Board of Directors of the Big 4 accountancy firms and if SMU Accountancy students are able to do internships at the Big 4 accountancy firms, then SMU Accountancy is good enough.

Yes, SMU people may wear makeup and branded clothing for lessons, but so what? Our school is in Orchard and of course we have to make ourselves presentable. It will be quite a disgrace to walk out of SMU and go into shopping malls wearing T-shirts and shorts combined with slippers.
For those people that think we don't study at SMU, think again. We do play hard and work hard too. To illustrate my point, you can just pay a visit to SMU during the weekends and see how many students are there mugging. Heck, even during the Hari Raya holiday that ended yesterday, the whole school is fully occupied with students doing their projects. (I was there to prove it, no life i know.)
So for some of you people that are my so-called friends, stop telling me that SMU Accountancy is lousy and employees do not like to employ SMU graduates and such. You should be supportive that I am in SMU Accountancy. Even if after you finished reading this post and is still not convinced, shut the hell up because if you still call yourself my friend, stop giving me those crap.

it's 4:55 am and i'm tired.

tired from working, studying and to taking care of my mum's business.

tired from being an employee, a student and a daughter.

it's not fair, it's totally not fair.

y do i have to cope with so many things?

y can't i just study normally like the other 18 years old.

y can't i just have a carefree life like everyone else?
